When discussing lap dogs, people usually think of a quiet little dog that is content to just lounge around all day. This is not true for the spunky Pomeranian. While her favorite place is at her owner’s side, she would much rather be up and around than sedentary on the couch. Keep in mind though that small dogs can become exerted quickly and the Pomeranian must be reminded to take a break every now and then.

Whether you are out on a walk or visiting with friends, the Pomeranian is always a show stopper. From her excess of fuzzy fur to the way her mouth seems to form a smile when excited, she never disappoints. Her ability to charm complete strangers as she makes her way over to them is fun to watch. The way she hops about in a friendly way can convert most people who previously disliked small dogs in general. If raised properly, the Pomeranian is passive and respectful. Her personality allows for periods of play as well as times of quiet exploration indoors and outside. While this dog loves to go for a walk on leash, they have been known to love running wild in a yard for hours.
